Poll: Nearly a quarter of Britons are willing to invest in NFTs

According to a survey conducted by analytics firm OnePoll, 24% of UK citizens intend to invest in non-interchangeable tokens in 2022.

OnePoll researchers surveyed 2,000 UK citizens back in Q4 2021. The pandemic, low interest rates on bank deposits and rising inflation have boosted interest in NFTs. OnePoll analysts noted that adoption of crypto-assets is much faster in major cities. For example, 41% of Londoners expressed a willingness to trade or transact with NFTs.

The report indicates that the younger the respondents, the greater their interest in digital assets. When asked what contributed to their decision to buy, 53% of 18- to 24-year-olds surveyed mentioned the possibility of investing online through dedicated apps. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed would be willing to use this option. The vast majority of respondents said investing in digital assets is more secure than investing in stocks, oil, real estate or gold. Only 11% of respondents cited tokens as a high-risk asset.

That said, the UK cryptocurrency market is not yet mature enough, OnePoll analysts said. Around 30% of survey participants have never heard of digital assets, 47% are just learning about investing in cryptocurrencies and 34% don't know how to invest in them easily and safely. Those surveyed cited a factor that they believe speaks to the reliability of investing in digital assets - the ability to purchase them on regulated trading platforms or through financial institutions. The decision of 55% of investors who bought NFT was influenced by statements from various artists, musicians and other well-known personalities.
