Bored Ape #232 was sold for a whopping 1080.69 ETH ($2.85 million) on the night of January 30, 2022. The transaction took place on the NFT marketplace – LooksRare.

- Due to the current price of ETH, the Ape NFT is not the largest sale in terms of dollar value, but it is the highest four-digit ETH sale for the price of a single one. Meanwhile, the collection's starting price is 118.99 eth at the time of writing.
- The buzz surrounding the BAYC NFT line continues to grow, with a slew of celebrities joining in. Serena Williams, a female tennis player, recently posted a picture of her pink bored ape on Twitter.
- Justin Bieber, famed artist Eminem, prominent footballer Neymar Jr., and NBA champion Stephen Curry are among the celebrities who own Bored Ape NFTs.
- Meanwhile, as previously reported by CryptoPotato, an attack on the largest NFT marketplace OpenSea targeted holders of the Bored Ape NFT.
- An attack on OpenSea's front end was used by the hacker to steal $750,000 in ETH. According to another account, a BAYC member lost their NFT after a hacker bought it for 92 percent less than the collection's floor value at the time.
The NFT of the Bored Ape Yacht Club sold for $2.85 million in ETH.
